We are continuing Sue’s legacy and helping our future generations.𝐀 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 ❤️

Through the Dr Sue Charlton AM Memorial Sub‑Fund, fully subsidised infant hip screening is now available for babies in Mount Gambier through a partnership between Stand Like Stone Foundation and @1stoppaediatricservices.

Sue advocated for hip scans in the first two weeks after birth to give children the best possible start in life through early identification, prevention and intervention. By removing financial barriers and increasing awareness, this initiative has the potential to help local babies access support at a critical stage of development.

What makes this particularly special is that the generosity of our community is now being transformed into a practical and sustainable benefit that will continue to support families well into the future.

This initiative also represents an important milestone for Stand Like Stone Foundation as the first project delivered through our Community Charity Trust, demonstrating how community foundations can work alongside partners to directly activate local solutions to community needs.

A huge thank you to the Charlton family, 1 Stop Paediatric Services and everyone who contributed to the fund. Together, we are ensuring Sue's passion for children's health continues to make a meaningful difference.

1 STOP PAEDIATRICS IS STEPPING UP THIS SEPTEMBER! 🩵

This September, our Physio & OT team are swapping therapy shoes for walking shoes and taking on Steptember! 👟

As a team, we’re aiming to smash 60,000 steps EVERY DAY - that’s a whopping 1.8 MILLION STEPS across the month! 🤯

But we’re not just walking for the steps…

We’re walking to raise vital funds for babies and children with cerebral palsy, helping support research, early intervention and brighter futures for children and their families.

From walking between sessions, chasing after little ones, squeezing in lunchtime laps and probably taking the long way to the coffee machine - every step counts!

👟 60,000 steps a day
👟 1.8 million steps in September
👟 One team
👟 One big goal
👟 All for babies and children with cerebral palsy 💙

We’d love your support! Donate, share, cheer us on or simply ask us how our step count is going! Donate today at https://www.steptember.org.au/fundraisers/1STOPPAEDIATRICS

Let’s get stepping! 🚶‍♀️

The hardest part of the session? Sometimes it’s getting the shoes on.

Transitions can be really challenging for children with ADHD, ASD and anxiety - especially when they’re moving from something engaging and predictable into “okay, it’s time to go.”

This is why structure, routine and pre-warning matter so much!

Giving children clear expectations and time to prepare for a transition can help reduce overwhelm, support regulation and make those final few minutes feel much more manageable.

And sometimes… even with all the preparation in the world, the shoes are still our hardest part 😉
