Psychologist
Jenni Pearce
Jenni is an experienced child psychologist, registered for over 25 years, with particular expertise working with children aged 3 to 15 and their families. She runs a busy and well recognised private psychology practice in Adelaide.
Jenni has been visiting Mt Gambier regularly for the past 6 years, and is well known by local doctors, pediatricians and schools.
Jenni provides practical ideas on better ways to parent children and boost their development. As a parent herself, she understands the challenges parents face, particularly children with behaviour or learning difficulties. Parents and children who visit Jenni enjoy sessions and come away with loads of information and good ideas. She can also visit all preschools and schools in the Limestone Coast district, to suggest strategies to teachers. |
|
 |
Jenni has particular expertise assessing children with developmental delay. She is recognised by Autism SA and Medicare to diagnose autism and Asperger's Syndrome, and can arrange the Carer's Allowance for parents whose children are eligible.
Because of the demand for appointments with Jenni in Mt Gambier, she is not able to offer long term individual counselling or therapy for children, but will suggest appropriate local services, after an initial assessment of the problems.
A referral is not needed to see Jenni, but often a family doctor or Paediatrician will refer a child to Jenni, so that Medicare benefits apply. Services can also be claimed by families that have private health fund extras cover for psychology. For more information about Medicare funding, click here.
